Enjoy the famous elephant safari and jeep safari. Later head towards Shillong with a stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake. In Shillong, explore the vibrant Police Bazaar. If time permits, explore the local attractions like Laitlum Canyon and Ward’s Lake. En route to Dawki, visit the stunning Phe Phe waterfalls and Krang Suri waterfalls and enjoy the various water activities on the crystal-clear Umngot River. Continue to Cherrapunji. Discover Cherrapunji’s natural wonders, including the Arwah and Mawsmai caves, and the breathtaking Nohkalikai Falls and Wei Sawdong Falls. Undertake a full-day trek to the incredible Double Decker Root Bridge and Rainbow Falls, immersing yourself in the region’s lush beauty. Itinerary

Day 1: Land in Guwahati. Transfer to Kaziranga. Overnight in Kaziranga

The drive from Guwahati to Kaziranga spans about 4-5 hours, covering roughly 190 kilometers. As you leave the bustling city of Guwahati, the road winds through serene countryside, passing by picturesque tea gardens and rolling hills. The journey offers glimpses of rural Assam, with small villages, local markets, and vast stretches of greenery. As you approach Kaziranga, the air feels fresher, and the landscape becomes more untamed, hinting at the rich wildlife awaiting in the national park. Overnight in Kaziranga.
Day 2: Elephant & Jeep Safari. Transfer to Shillong via Umiam Lake. Overnight in Shillong

Early morning head for the Safaris in Kaziranga. This offers a close-up experience of the park’s grasslands, allowing visitors to observe wildlife like rhinos, elephants, and deer in their natural habitat at dawn. The Jeep Safari covers a larger area, traversing the park’s four zones, providing opportunities to spot a variety of animals and birds, including tigers and water buffalo, in a more expansive exploration. Later embark on a journey to Shillong. The drive itself is a picturesque introduction to the lush landscapes of Meghalaya, with rolling hills and verdant greenery. En route, take a refreshing break at Umiam Lake, a vast and beautiful reservoir surrounded by lush hills, perfect for a short walk or a few photos. Continuing your journey. If time permits, explore Laitlum Canyon, Wards Lake, Shillong View Point. In the evening, explore Police Bazaar, the bustling commercial hub of Shillong. Here, you can shop for local handicrafts, enjoy delicious street food, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 3: Shillong to Dawki via Phe Phe and Krang Suri waterfalls. Overnight in Dawki

After breakfast, begin your journey to Dawki. First, visit Phe Phe Waterfall, a lesser-known but equally enchanting spot, offering pristine natural beauty and a tranquil atmosphere. Next head to Krang Suri Waterfall, known for its azure waters and picturesque setting. Take a dip in the cool waters or relax by the falls, enjoying the serene environment. Continue your drive to Dawki, a charming town on the India-Bangladesh border, famous for its crystal-clear Umngot River. The river’s transparency is so striking that boats appear to be floating on air. Spend the night in Dawki, experiencing the peaceful ambiance of this riverside town.
Day 4: Dawki to Cherrapunji. Enjoy water activities at Dawki. Overnight in Cherrapunji
Day 5: Cherrapunji sightseeing. Visit Mawsmai Caves, Arwah Caves, Nokhalikai Falls, Seven Sister falls etc. Overnight in Cherrapunji

Begin your exploration of Cherrapunji with visits to its famous caves and waterfalls. Start with the Arwah Cave, known for its impressive limestone formations and prehistoric fossils. Then, proceed to the Mawsmai Cave, an easily accessible cave that offers a labyrinth of passages adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. After exploring these subterranean wonders, head to Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest plunge waterfalls in India. The sight of the water cascading down into the deep green pool below is simply awe-inspiring. Spend time soaking in the natural beauty and taking photographs before returning to your hotel for the night.
Day 6: Full day trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge and Rainbow Falls. Overnight in Cherrapunji

Prepare for an adventurous day as you embark on a full-day trek to the Double Decker Root Bridge in Nongriat. This unique bridge, made from the living roots of rubber trees, showcases the ingenuity of the Khasi people and their harmonious relationship with nature. The trek involves descending steep steps and navigating through lush forests, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience. After visiting the root bridge, continue your trek to Rainbow Falls, a stunning waterfall named for the rainbows that often form in its mist. Enjoy the pristine beauty and tranquility of this hidden gem before trekking back to Cherrapunji. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 7: Cherrapunji to Guwahati airport drop. If time permits, visit Mawphlang Sacred forest en route and Mawkdok Zip Lining.

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in Cherrapunji before being transferred to Guwahati for your departure. If time permits, enroute stop at the Mawkdok Valley for an adrenaline-pumping zip-lining experience, where you can glide over verdant valleys and take in the stunning views. Next, head to Mawphlang Sacred Forest, a protected grove revered by the Khasi tribe. This forest is a treasure trove of biodiversity and is rich with ancient lore. The Khasi people have preserved this forest for centuries, and it is believed that taking anything in or out of the forest could anger the spirits that protect it. A guided walk through the sacred forest will offer insights into the Khasi culture, the ecological significance of the grove, and the traditional beliefs that help preserve its pristine condition. Arrive at Guwahati airport in time for your flight, bringing an end to an unforgettable Meghalaya adventure.
